Monel

Elcon manufactures an extensive variety of precision parts made from Monel – a material principally composed of nickel and copper with minor amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon. Monel is more challenging to CNC machine than steel because it work-hardens quickly, and its alloys are stronger than pure nickel and are extremely resistant to many corrosive agents, including saltwater and toxic gases. These properties combined with Monel’s ductile properties make it an ideal candidate for electronics applications, particularly in oil & gas, marine, and aerospace environments.
